The vegan diet is wrongly interpreted by most people as a radical eating regime associated with anemic bare foot hippies, However the possibilities of a vegan diet are limitless, delicious and can be as easy or as complicated as a carnivorous diet. Vegan or Veganism is a diet that like vegetarianism excludes flesh. However vegans also choose to avoid all animal products such as eggs, dairy products and all other animal-derived ingredients
"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet"

Well day ones almost over, The vegan way of life started the hard way this morning after finding out I had no warm non woolen or merino clothing, Thanks to my wife for pointing out that my new Yak wool jersey is not vegan! A big thank you to Helen and Chris for a great soy flat white to keep me going. So far so good!

Many vegans will still wear leather or wool purchased before they went vegan, until it wears out. My rule has been no spending on non-vegan stuff for myself.
I will occasionally buy second hand non-vegan woolen clothes or at clothing swap-meets. I see it as not really creating a demand by buying second hand. I've still got some leather shoes and other non-vegan items left too ;) We call it being 'pragmatically principled'. Good on you for giving it a go, and it's interesting seeing you go through all the though processes. Our whole family is vegan and we LOVE food and don't see it is compromising or limiting in any way (except if we want to eat out, but it's getting better!). When you think of what is going on in food production, health, animal abuse, water use, pollution etc, it's the only logical conclusion. Good luck!
